TAS Network Centre

The development of Templemore Avenue School has massive support from the east Belfast MP and east Belfast MLAs and City Councillors, as well as the community and voluntary sector.

It fits with a number of Government initiatives including Pathways for Change (2005), the Department of Social Development's Neighbourhood Renewal Programme and Department of Social Development / Belfast Regeneration Office Inner East Belfast Master Plan.

The cost of developing Templemore Avenue School as an East Belfast Network Centre is estimated to be £4.5million. The process of pulling together the finance is well underway, with funding coming from a combination of sources including government
departments, trusts and private donations.

A Project Plan has been established with key dates as follows:

• Planning permission applied for: September 2009
• Project Manager/Client Representative appointed: December 2009
• Design Team appointed: April 2010
• Planning Approval: April 2010
• Funding Secured: June 2010
• Contractor appointed: September 2010
• Start on site: October 2010
• Final Tenancy agreements: July 2011
• Open building: June 2012
